Mexican Fisherman Story - What's quality of life?

(I found this story online by chance. I don't know who the author of this story is but it's such a great one that I have to post it, if anyone knows the source, please write a comment about it and I'll add it)

An American tourist was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.

Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The tourist complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

Expect what you want

There is something I've come to realize and that is that the way you act and feel about and with other people will have a great effect on how they act and feel toward you. Other people become what you expect them to be.

Expectations
If you expect them to be mean to you, be impersonal, ignore you etc. then you will yourself act in various ways to either counter what bad will come by protecting yourself or avoiding that person all together.

Now if you instead expected that person to be kind and open toward you then you instead would be letting your walls down and meeting that person on the same level.

Life on earth and elsewhere

While all this business of ex-military personal, former defense minister of Canada, various governments around the world and the whole disclosure project moving forward in the media, I feel urged to give my view on it.

Background philosophy
My belief is that we're not alone in the universe, we have fellow beings that live and evolve in many places in our extremely vast universe. It's just illogical to me that we would be the only ones in this almost infinite number of worlds.

Raising a child - Being the child you want

As the birth is coming closer and the time when I'm going to be a father is getting near I'm thinking more and more about raising children and life quality and meaning in general. Will I be a good father? Will I avoid the mistakes of my parents? How do I raise the child into being himself and not my image of the perfect son? I say son because that's what we think it will be, which is really exciting.

The art of being you

Who are you? Do you know? Can you describe what in essence is you? Do you define yourself by the things that you own, your children, your beliefs, your opinions, your feelings and thoughts, what your friends see you as, what your parents told you to be, what you aren't... what and whom are you?

Think About You
It's an interesting road to walk down, to ponder what it is that makes you who you are. It's my belief that every person is totally unique but also the same. Let me break that down.

Time - everybody has it

So you're using phrases like "I'd love to learn that, maybe tomorrow" or "oh, I wish I had the time to do that"? Do you feel like time just keeps on slipping away leaving you going to bed wondering where it all went?

You’re not alone.

We all have 24 hours every day, except two times a year. We all have the choice to prioritize how we spend those hours, what we fill them with. You may think that you don't, but you do, there is always, always a choice. Going to work is your choice, not paying the phone bill is your choice, feeding your children is your choice, not going to that concert is you choice.

It's never too late to change your life

We all worry about our lives at some point, at least some of us stop for a minute to reflect over where we are right now and how it fits in with the dream we had years and years ago.

Do we live through our hearts following that dream? Or, do we walk the road that our parents told us? Are we being led by what society says is the better way? Questions like that are important to ask yourself regardless if it's about the big things in life like your job, your family, your hobbies or the very small things like "do I actually like to go to this restaurant every day?".
